Elders

The term 'elder' is used in various ways in the Bible. In many instances, particularly in the Old Testament, it has reference to the older men in a tribe, usually entrusted with the governmental affairs.  However, in addition to the word commonly translated 'elder', there are two other words used in the New Testament to describe various aspects of this position of leadership: 'overseer' and 'shepherd' (or 'pastor').

Churches of Christ congregations believe that our Elders along with our Ministers, should be responsible for the spiritual oversight of our congregation.  The Elders are supported in their work by a Board of Deacons who provide organisational support in developing goals toward our congregation's vision.

Our eldership team is appointed by our congregation for a period of three years and regularly meets with our Ministers .  The team for 2011 includes:
