Global Mission Partners (GMP)

Global Mission Partners (GMP) is part of Churches of Christ in Australia, connecting churches with each other and overseas partners in mission. Magill Church of Christ is a strong supporter of GMP with a particular focus on the partnership with Sudan.

In June 2008, Joseph Mawien, minister of the United Sudanese Fellowship, and Steve Blacket, minister of our Magill Church of Christ, travelled to Sudan to meet with church and community leaders and explore the potential for a ministry relationship between our respective communities. In December 2009/January 2010 they returned with Ros Stafford-Green to grow relationships and confirm partnerships. They also delivered much needed medical supplies including birthing kits. Since that time Steve has returned to Sedan to further develop this partnership.  Further information can be found in the link on the Main Menu of our Home Page.

Fair Dinka Mate

You may have already seen a link to the Fair Dinka mate website on our website under the menu heading of International Ministries - Sudan Ministries.

Steve Blacket who is our minister here at Magill Church of Christ has now travelled on three occasions to Sudan and his blog at Fair Dinka Mate provides the details of his 'journeying' so far.  The site provides up to date information about the ministry relationship between Australian Churches of Christ and Christian leaders in Southern Sudan.  It also gives you the chance to participate by joining the conversation and by contributing to the work in Sudan in various ways.

If you have an interest in supporting the Sudanese community, we would encourage you to visit Fair Dinka Mate regularly, post your comments, and join us in exploring ways we can care for our Sudanese friends.

One50 Dance

One50 Dance clubs provide a place for young people to come and be encouraged and inspired through the rapidly growing dance style know as street funk or hip-hop.

One50 Dance classes aim to provide a fun yet professional and challenging environment where students from both beginner and advanced levels can learn and perform.

150 Dance also run schools progams which aim to lift the self-esteem and self confidence of those who participate, whilst using dance to provide fitness, co-ordination, team work, persistence and challenge. The workshops encourage young people to dream and achieve their full potential. They create a positive environment for young people to trust, let go of inhibitions and be themselves.

One50 Dance also runs dance workshops which are creative arts programs that teach a blend of street funk and hip hop dance styles. They are exciting and interactive, giving young people an opportunity to perform, choreograph, and participate in life skill activities, through the use of dance and other activity based learning. One50 Dance Workshops build self-confidence, self-respect, teamwork, leadership, and encourage healthy minds and healthy bodies.

If you think you may know someone who would enjoy these activities in a safe and caring environment, take a look at the One50 Dance website for further details.

Life Care

Life Care was established by the Churches of Christ in 1950 and opened the ‘Glenrose Court – Aged Care’ facility at Glen Osmond in the same year.

Originally known as Christian Rest Homes and later Churches of Christ Retirement Services, Life Carestill a not-for-profit organisation – is now financially independent from Churches of Christ and has grown and diversified through generations to meet the changing care needs of older South Australians for nearly six decades.

Life Care is dedicated to the provision of independent living, residential and community care through a wide range of services, and we remain committed to delivering on the needs of an ageing population.
