In 2007 Vana Bawm returned to his home communities in the Bandarban region of the Chittagong Hills Tracts of Bangladesh.  He had spent the previous ten years in Chennai, India, where he had studied and lectured at the National Bible College.  Vana began establishing Churches of Christ in various towns and villages in the Bandarban Hills, appointing pastors, elders and evangelists and establishing an oversight structure for the organization.

In October 2009, Vana contacted our minister Steve Blacket through the church website and a friendship developed.  Out of this friendship has grown a mutually enriching partnership.  A team in Australia have provided pastor's salaries, purchased land, established agricultural projects and student hostels, and in return those who have visited Bangladesh have had their hearts changed by the loving hospitality of these Christian communities living in primative paradise.
