Two popular sessions are held each week – on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Affiliated with the Playgroup Association of South Australia our playgroup is considered among the best in the state.
Playgroup offers opportunities for parents/caregivers to play and work alongside of their children in a safe and happy environment, and provides opportunity for children and their caregivers to interact and develop friends with people of all ages. Our employed coordinator and team of volunteers who support her, have built a wonderful rapport with children and adults who attend.
A typical morning programme includes:
Free play, story time, craft, lunch/morning tea, pack up, music and movement
For example, just recently Old Macdonald's Farm visited The Corner Playgroup. About 50 children and their families enjoyed the hands on experience with about 25 small and baby farm animals. The visit included very friendly and clean goats and kids, ducks, rabbits, chickens, a piglet and lambs. The children and their families freely mingled with the animals handling and feeding them and lots of fun was had by all!

In Term 4, 60 children and their families welcomed "Sue Harris Puppets" to The Corner Playgroup.
Sue Harris is one of South Australia’s premier Puppeteers. Her original and imaginative work has brought the joy of puppets and storytelling to children and adults throughout South Australia since 1978. The 2 mornings were enjoyed by all with an interactive story and various animal puppets. The children were given the opportunity to touch and interact with the puppets as well. Some children were quite brave and decided to go inside the large boa constrictor puppet while others were quite happy to veiw from a distance.
The morning proved to be engagingly humorous and enjoyable for the children and their families.
